| The old riverside granaries, storehouses and salt storehouses of Oulu serve as memorials to the heyday of tar burghers. The granaries are still standing at the marketplace serving both Oulu dwellers and visitors. The Savi-Jonttu ceramic plates portraying the granaries get a traditional patina in the Raku firing process. |
"The ceramic plates manufactured by Raija Ikonen from Muhos could solve the eternal question of an eligible Oulu souvenir. The granary plate presents many possibilities. They can be displayed alone or in a group of small plates or big ones with different combinations of red or dark colours.
